Case Studies
Each case study below is drawn from real work. Names, companies, and specific identifying details are removed; the problems, decisions, and outcomes are real.
I write these in a consistent structure so they’re easy to skim:
- Context: the org and the constraints
- Problem: what was actually broken
- Approach: what I tried, what I rejected, why
- Outcome: what changed, what didn’t, what I’d do differently
The case studies
- Driving content governance without authority: A KM lead with no direct reports tries to introduce governance at an org without leadership sponsorship. What works, what doesn’t.
- Rebuilding a Guru instance for actual use: Inheriting a KM tool that everyone has access to but no one trusts. The IA, governance, and behavior-change work to fix it.
